ESWATINI TOUR

“We will start our safari at a leisurely pace and take a short drive to the heart of Soweto. Here, we will partake in an exclusive experience to learn more about the history that shaped South Africa. Visits to museums, monuments, and Nelson Mandela’s House are highlights not to be missed.”

Today, we will leave the city behind and traverse through the scenic countryside into the Mpumalanga Highveld. We will make a scheduled stop for lunch en route before continuing to our overnight accommodation in the Blyde River Canyon. This evening, we will enjoy a sunset cruise on the Blyde River Dam.

“Today, we are starting early as we head out to explore the Panorama Route. We will be visiting the 3 Rondavels and Bourke’s Luck Potholes, as well as God’s Window. Afterward, we will descend into the Sabie Valley, make a quick shopping stop in Hazyview before continuing to the world-famous Kruger National Park. For the next two nights, our base will be in the park where we will enjoy the activities outlined in our tour.”

An early wakeup today; after breakfast, we met up with the rangers from the park to take a “walk on the wild side.” It was an exhilarating game walk. Today we learned about the flora and fauna of the park in detail, and viewing any of the Big 5 was a highlight of the walk. After the walk, we returned to camp to enjoy a hearty brunch and soon departed for our half-day drive en route to our next camp.

We are leaving early this morning to head to the Kingdom of Eswatini. We plan to take the shortest route to the border and aim to arrive in the afternoon after enjoying the scenic drive through the country. Today, we will learn about Swati culture through an educational cultural excursion we will participate in. Tonight, we will be staying overnight in traditional Swazi huts.

Today we take time to visit the numerous sites within the Kingdom at leisure. Places like Ngwenya Glass blowing, the Swazi Candles just to name a few are a must see.

From the Kingdom, today we will take a drive through the scenic plantations as we head towards the coastline of St. Lucia, which is the main hub for entry into the Isimangaliso Wetland Park.

We spend time exploring the park on foot and in a game drive vehicle. Additionally, we take time to visit the beach and relax in the afternoon.

Today is a day for driving as we venture further inland into the battlefields of South Africa. This area is rich with the history of battles and wars that have been fought in the region.

Today, we spend time with  local historians who will give us a detailed account of what transpired in the olden days. Folklore plays a significant role in how we understand the series of historic events. However, after visiting Isandlwana Battlefield, Rourke’s Drift, and Talana Battlefield, located on the outskirts of the town of Dundee, we aim to provide a clearer picture. In the late afternoon, we returned to our lodge.

After our history lessons and insights from the battlefields, we are now continuing our visit to the Drakensberg Mountains, which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in the year 2000. This is the eastern portion of the Great Escarpment which encloses central Southern Africa. We expect to arrive in good time in order to enjoy the panoramic views from our appointed lodge.

Toggle ConteToday we spend a full day in the Drakensberg Mountain National Park where we go hiking around to see the numerous waterfalls and admire the scenic landscape of the area. A day full of exercise and fresh air before we return to relax at our lodge high up on the mountain and enjoy our last evening on tour.nt

This is our last day on tour. We will descend down the mountain and drive to join one of the main highways, heading straight for Johannesburg. Options to drop off clients directly at the International Airport can be arranged.
