Payment & Cancellation Policy

Thank you for choosing Mbeu Safaris & Tours. Please read our payment and cancellation terms carefully before finalizing your booking. By paying a deposit or full balance, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.

1. Booking & Deposit Terms

A 40% non-refundable deposit (group departures, 4+ pax) or 50% non-refundable deposit (individual bookings, 3 pax or fewer) of the total tour cost is required within 7 days of receiving your invoice to secure your reservation. Individual bookings: the remaining 50% balance is due 30 days prior to departure. Group departures: full payment is due 45 days prior to departure. Last-minute bookings made within 30 days of travel require full payment immediately. Your booking is only officially confirmed once the required deposit has been received and acknowledged by Mbeu Safaris & Tours.

2. Guest Cancellations & Fees

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@mbeusafaris.com. Refunds are calculated from the date written notice is received: 60+ days before departure — loss of 40% deposit only. 45–59 days before departure — 50% of total tour cost. 30–44 days before departure — 75% of total tour cost. 0–29 days before departure — 100% of total tour cost (no refund).

National park fees, domestic flights and special permits purchased on your behalf are 100% non-refundable at any time. A 100% cancellation fee applies for no-shows, late arrivals or non-attendance. No refunds are issued for unused nights, missed activities or unused services during the tour.

3. Group Departures vs. Private Safaris

Group Departures: due to fixed shared costs, a 50% cancellation fee applies from 60 days prior to travel, and a 100% fee applies within 30 days. Private Safaris: subject to the standard fee structure in Section 2 above; date changes may be accommodated subject to availability and supplier terms.

4. Amendments & Booking Changes

One date change is permitted free of administrative charge if requested 30+ days prior to travel; requests within 30 days incur a 20% amendment fee plus any additional supplier costs. Name changes are permitted up to 14 days prior to travel for an administrative fee of $50 USD per person, subject to third-party supplier rules (e.g. airlines).

5. Cancellations by Mbeu Safaris & Tours

In the unlikely event that we must cancel a tour due to insufficient group numbers, political unrest, or force majeure events, guests will be offered either a full refund of all monies paid directly to Mbeu Safaris & Tours, or a free transfer of payment toward an alternative travel date or itinerary. Mbeu Safaris & Tours is not liable for indirect costs such as international flight tickets, visa fees, or vaccination costs.

6. Force Majeure & Travel Insurance

Mbeu Safaris & Tours is not liable for failure to perform its obligations where this results from Acts of God (fire, flood, earthquake, storm or other natural disasters), war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities, civil war, rebellion, government sanctions, labor disputes, or pandemics. Comprehensive travel insurance is compulsory for all guests, and must include cover for trip cancellation, medical expenses, emergency air evacuation, and loss of personal luggage.

7. Payment Details

You can pay your deposit or balance securely online via PayPal or card, or by direct bank transfer — our bank details will be provided together with your invoice. Please always send your Proof of Payment to info@mbeusafaris.com, using your tour name as the payment reference.
